The FOG Ride

One of the most amazing things about FOG is that from spring until late fall a rider can show up on almost any Saturday morning and find an enthusiastic group of cyclists to ride with. With a large membership to draw from rides will often divide into groups for reasons of traffic courtesy, safety, and ability. Read more on our groups here

 

Time

The club ride takes place on Saturday mornings and select public holidays leaving at 0900 sharp. Please arrive early so you are ready to ride by 0900. If you are new to the ride, please give yourself extra time to complete the requisite paperwork.

 

Date

Typically from mid-April through till mid-November (weather permitting).

 

Location

We start and end at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #215 located at 215 Maxwell King Drive (near Henderson and the Perimeter). Most riders will drive to the legion. Please park in the parking lot on the east side of the building. Some will ride out from their homes. See map here

 

The legion houses a great little restaurant (Lee's on Devries) and many of us will stop in after the ride for some great food and conversation. We are guests at the legion and encourage you to support the legion.

Informal weekday rides

A number of members ride together as friends on weekdays and weeknights. One group who rides regularly have established a Facebook page; FOGCasualRides. Please note that although a number of FOG members enjoy these rides they are not endorsed by or associated in any way with the club. Club/MCA insurance coverage, etc. does not apply.

Cross Is Coming

Manitoba's longest continuously running cyclocross race, CrossTastic, takes place  Sunday October 15th at Whittier Park. The 14th edition hosts the Manitoba Provincial Cyclocross Championships. Come out and cheer on the competitors or better yet take part yourself! read more >
