2.0 Requirements to ride with FOG

We love having other riders join us, but for insurance reasons it is NOT possible to just drop in on a FOG ride. All riders on all FOG rides must meet a number of conditions. They're pretty easy, but they must all be met. NO EXCEPTIONS. Read more here. Please also ensure you read our Policy Page.

2.1 Is there any way to try a ride before joining?

Read more here.

2.2 I'll be visiting Winnipeg. Can I join any FOG rides?

Read more here.

3.0 Who can join FOG

FOG is a masters club, but welcomes cyclists of either sex age 16 and older who meet the above requirements and those in section 3.3 below. Minors require parental permission.

3.1 Can I be a member of more than one club?

It is possible to be a member of more than one cycling club at the same time. Many of our members belong to more than one club.

3.2 Can I race for another club?

Some FOG members race for FOG while other members race for other clubs/shops.

3.3 What are the age requirements

We are a masters club

We allow members age 16 and 17 if they have written parental approval

We allow members younger than 16 if they are on the provincial team and are accompanied by a parent or coach and have written parental approval

4.0 How much does it cost

FOG membership fees are $25 for the 2023 season.

4.1 What does the membership fee include

As well as membership the fee includes the mid summer BBQ, and brunch at the AGM.

5.0 How to obtain the appropriate memberships

See the 2023 registration process here.

5.1 How to obtain a FOG membership if you already have a licence

If you already have a valid race licence, citizen's licence, or MCA general membership you will need to obtain a FOG membership. More information is here.

6.0 Do members have to race?

FOG has a rich racing history with many local, provincial, and national champions. FOG also promotes a number of races. However, racing is not a requirement and many FOG members do not race. We do always appreciate volunteers at our races.

7.0 FOG team kit

FOG team uniforms are available from Malcolm Doupe. Jerseys, shorts, bib shorts, jackets, vests, socks, gloves, and water bottles are available.   read more >
